Several reports on Thursday said that the Cleveland Cavaliers got guard Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in exchange for three players and three first-round draught picks.

Several reports say that guard Collin Sexton, forward Lauri Markkanen, and rookie guard Ochai Agbaji are going to Salt Lake City. Utah will get three first-round draught picks that are not protected and two pick swaps.

The trade of Mitchell, a three-time All-Star, means that the Jazz will have to start over from scratch. With Mitchell and star centre Rudy Gobert on the team, the Jazz haven’t been able to get to the Western Conference finals in recent years. Earlier in the offseason, the Jazz sent Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a trade.

People thought that Mitchell wanted to be traded to his home team, the New York Knicks. The Knicks recently decided to sign RJ Barrett to a long-term deal instead of trying to trade for him, which would have required them to give up a lot of valuable assets.

With Mitchell, who is 25 years old, and All-Star Darius Garland, who is 22 years old. The Cavaliers will now have a top-tier backcourt.
