The trade of Mitchell, a three-time All-Star, means that the Jazz will have to start over from scratch. With Mitchell and star centre Rudy Gobert on the team, the Jazz haven’t been able to get to the Western Conference finals in recent years. Earlier in the offseason, the Jazz sent Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a trade.
People thought that Mitchell wanted to be traded to his home team, the New York Knicks. The Knicks recently decided to sign RJ Barrett to a long-term deal instead of trying to trade for him, which would have required them to give up a lot of valuable assets.
With Mitchell, who is 25 years old, and All-Star Darius Garland, who is 22 years old. The Cavaliers will now have a top-tier backcourt.
Over his five NBA seasons, Mitchell has averaged 23.9 points per game. In 67 games last season, he averaged 25.9 points and 5.3 assists.
Donovan Mitchell’s best season was 2020-21, when he averaged 26.4 points per game.
Donovan Mitchell has scored an average of 28.3 points in 39 playoff games.
Sexton, who is 23 years old, only played in 11 games for the Cavaliers last year before he had surgery on his left knee, which ended his season. In a game against the Knicks on November 7, he tore his meniscus.
Sexton was picked No. 8 overall in 2018 out of Alabama. In 218 games, he has averaged 20 points, 3.3 assists, and 3 rebounds (208 starts).
Markkanen, who is 25, played for the Cavaliers for the first time last season. In 61 games, he averaged 14.8 points and 5.7 rebounds. He played for the Chicago Bulls for his first four years. In 282 games, he has averaged 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds (256 starts).
Agbaji (22), was picked 14th overall in the first round of the 2022 draught. He was an All-American at Kansas. Last season, he scored 18.8 points on average in 39 games and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA tournament. He also helped the Jayhawks win the national championship.
